5 years old
First horse:
Mr Whoppit (9 hands). Dad went to put him to sleep one day and ended up bringing him home in back of his car. He lived with us for another 10 years
Describe your typical day?
At uni, I feed horses first thing, then work them in between lectures when it can be fitted in, otherwise I ride in the evening. Eat meal at flat and then either study or socialize! Weekends usually involve competitions or training. Exam times are a bit more stressful.

Family dogs, Polly and Maisie (fox terriers)

"Cossack" A 14 hh white pony who took me to novice at 12 - a wonderful jumper, not so flash on the flat!

Your Favourite Drink?
Steinlager pure
Your favourite Song?
Wish you were here - Pink Floyd
Your favourite TV Show and Movie?
Boston Legal and Die Hard
Your best horse event & Why?
Kihikihi (World Cup event) as it is always a challenge and beautifully built.
What other hobbies do you have?
Rugby, golf, skiing
Person you most admire?
My dad - he beats me at golf! Whoops, and Mum too for putting up with me!
What do you want to achieve in the next 5 years?
I intend on finishing my vet degree and getting a job that allows me to keep riding at the top level. When I have horses that are approaching 3-4star, I would like to spend some time based in the UK.
HYGAIN Feed or Supplements You Currently Use and why?
Currently feed Hygain Ice as a base feed, then add either Microspeed or Grand Prix to it depending on what each horse is currently doing and its level of fitness. The horses all receive Flexion and RBO-Elite when they are in work, and when they start doing fitness work they get Regain
When the horses are turned out they receive Ice.
We currently have 4 mares and foals, a mixture of eventers and race horses, all of which get feed daily with Grotorque
What is the best thing about having a horse?
For me at the moment the best thing is being able to have something else to concentrate on other that study. I also love the satisfaction that comes with horses when everything goes right, because working with an animal adds so much more variation and risk than normal sport and competition.
Ideal Retreat?
Either on the beach, somewhere hot where telephone doesn't work, or up in the mountains skiing.
Words of Wisdom
There is no use worrying about things that you have no control over, and if you do have control, you can do something about them
