When did you first start riding?

  • I started riding when I was seven years old.

First horse:

  • My first pony was a part Arab pony who was bred on Gunawarra Station in Far North QLD.
  • My first Real Dressage horse was a warmblood mare called Contessa. She was a state champion and member of the state squad

Describe your typical day?

  • A typical winters day for me is to get up around 6.30 and feed horses. I then pack my son off to school then ride my three horses. I then coach until school ends. I usually have a short time with my son then give coach training sessions in the evening. In summer I get up at 4.30am and ride all the horses before it gets too hot, then coach in the late afternoon and evening.

Any Other Pets?

  • I have a dog and two cats who think they are dogs.

Your best Horse?

  • I cannot pick my best horse. They are all different and all special.

What is your favourite Horse of all time & Why? (anyone's)

Your favourite Song?

  • My favourite song changes weekly. I love U2 but am currently into Alex Lloyd and James Blunt.

Your favourite TV Show and Movie?

  • Favourite TV show is House and favourite movie is To kill a Mockingbird

Your best horse event & Why?

  • The horse event that I enjoy competing at the most is the National Championships, mostly because of the venue but also because it is always a well run show.

  • My favourite horse event to watch would be the World Cup Final.

What other hobbies do you have?

  • Other hobbies include homemaking, gardening, being a mum and being a Polocrosse supporter.

Person you most admire?

  • The Sports person that I most admire does change from time to time but currently Roger Federer

What do you want to achieve in the next 5 years?

  • In the next five years I would like to continue to train my horses through the grades in Dressage and remain competitive at a National level.

HYGAIN Feed or Supplements You Currently Use and why?

  • I have fed all of my Dressage horses Release and Flexion for the last four years. I ride Mares and the high levels of Vitamin E and Selenium in the Release have meant that I have never had any problems with horses tying-up. The horses always look fantastic and they love their feed.

What is the best thing about having a horse?

  • The best thing about having a horse is have the chance to ride these beautiful creatures and develop a relationship of trust and respect with them.

Ideal Retreat?

  • My ideal retreat is anywhere where I do not have to do the cooking so long as my Husband and son are there with me.

Words of Wisdom

  • Remember that there is more to being a successful rider than just the riding. Make sure that you have a great support team behind you and that you feed your horses a great product like Hygain Release.
