Favourite Books:

Chosen by a Horse’. Ironically, I picked it up because it had a picture of a horse on the front cover and it turned out to be one of the best books I’ve ever read.

First Horse:

Strawberry. She was a piggy little mare who kicked and bucked. I figure Dad thought buying me a pony like her would put me off the idea of wanting to ride horses.

Current Horses:

Levitate GHP (Levi): 12yo WB Gelding Imported from Germany as a 4yo. Levi was purchased from the Hammood family in Queensland. He has a huge personality and is a pleasure to work with. This season, Levi will compete in Young Riders and Senior classes including the Current Stars Section at DJWTS.

Hectic (Troy): 6yo Hanoverian WB gelding by Hector, full brother to CTD Hendrix, recently deceased. Troy joined our team at the start of the 2011 and with a few more miles under his belt and regularly attending Victorian Squad Training Clinics, we hope he will develop into a competitive horse like his brother. This season he will compete in both Junior and Young Rider Championships throughout Victoria, South Australia and New South Wales as well as the 6yo Section at DJWTS.

Aspirations:

To be better tomorrow than I am today.

Superstitions:

You make your own luck.

Any major injuries:

A few mild concussions here and there, several stitches over large cuts, a few bruises and some sore muscles but overall, I’ve been very fortunate to not have any serious injuries.

Advice for aspiring riders:

If you know what you want and are prepared to do something about it, you can make it happen. You will have to make sacrifices and it’s not all going to be easy but, life wasn’t meant to be easy.

Most admired sportsperson:

Roger Federer. The way he wins and loses, the way he conducts himself and his overall attitude, faultless.

If you could invite 5 people

to dinner who would it be

& why:

Roger Federer, same reason as I admire him.
Marcus Ehning. I’d love to know how he got to where he is today. I know obviously he worked hard and had a bit of luck along the way but to hear his stories would be an incredible opportunity.
Andrew Soper. He always teaches me something new, every time I speak with him.
Hayden, from Masterchef. He can cook dinner.
Gorgia McPhee. She’s my bestfriend, completely non-horsey! But she’s there for me through thick and thin and I couldn’t possibly go out without taking her with me.
