Career Highlights:

Hartpury this year – will be one for sure.  2010 NZ Para Equestrian Champion, only had Witchy for 9 weeks.   Qualified and competed at Horse of the Year 2011 for the 1st time in both Para & Able Bodied Dressage, wining Reserve Para Champ HOY 2011

Aspirations:

Qualify and be selected to compete for NZ at London 2012 Paralympics and 2014 WEG.  I have MS, so I want to ride and compete for as long as I can.

Superstitions:

I didn’t realise but I have a few – Always wear my rose quartz necklace when I compete, must wear one of my many pairs of lucky long socks, must put new rubber bands on feet/stirrups for every test even though I know they are ok, wear same stock & pin.

Any major injuries:

Just the usual breaks, tears, crushes – broke elbow & foot, crushed tailbone (couple of times), tore rotator cuff in shoulder – probably the worst as can’t be fixed and still gives me problems.

Advice for aspiring riders:

Be positive, train hard but most of all enjoy riding, have fun and take every opportunity you can.

Most admired sportsperson:

Anky van Grunsven

If you could invite 5 people

to dinner who would it be

& why:

Anky van Grunsven – what can I say, pick her brains, shes a legend

Gordon Ramsey – to cook & entertain

Jennifer Saunders & Dawn French – well you cant have one without the other, the comedy would be great.

Paul Walker – rather good to look at
