Mosheen adds to Group 1 Glory
Crack filly, Mosheen made it 3 Group 1 victories from its last 4 starts with a barnstorming finish in the Randwick Guineas on Saturday. The Robert Smerdon trained 3 y.o now boasts an imposing record of 3 wins, 2 seconds and an unlucky 6th from 6 Group 1 attempts and is likely to continue her assaults on the classics during the lucrative Sydney autumn carnival.
The class of both the filly and importantly her trainer is clearly evident in the fact that in her last 5 starts she has won 4 races ranging from 1200m in the Edward Manifold to 2500m in the Crown Oaks last spring.
Robert Smerdon, along with multiple Group 1 winning trainer Tony Vasil is part of the extraordinary Aquanita Racing operation. The trio of trainers is completed by Simon Miller in Perth who completed a sensational Saturday for Aquanita by finishing 1st and 2nd in the listed Gimcrack stakes at Ascot. The Gimcrack success adds to Miller’s amazing run this season indeed his strike rate of 32.7% of winners to runners is the highest of any Australian trainer with more than 100 runners in the 11/12 season.
The entire Aquanita team are powered by Hygain feeds, most notably Tracktorque, Release and Micrspeed and we offer our hearty congratulations to Robert and all the team on yet another Group 1 success.
