A palatable non oat micronized sweet feed, formulated for mature horses providing the necessary digestible energy along with soluble fibre, quality protein and balanced levels of vitamins and minerals for optimal health and vitality.

• Natural Vitamin E -This unique and highly stable form of Natural Vitamin E known as RRR-a-tocopherol is up to 5 times more bio available and potent than regular synthetic sources of Vitamin E. Research has shown that Natural Vitamin E provides higher retention levels in plasma further aiding antioxidant, immune, cardiovascular, circulatory and neuromuscular functions.
• Bio-Mos® - Bio-Mos® is a unique form of Mannan Oligosaccharides derived from the outer cell wall of a select strain of yeast using a proprietary process developed by Alltech. Bio-Mos® has a defined mode of action and is incorporated in EQUINE SENIOR® to maintain a healthy immune system and support natural defences essential for optimum performance.
• Bio-Available Selenium - Selenium acts as an antioxidant to prevent fatty acid oxidation which can cause tissue damage. Research has shown that Sel-Plex®, an organic form of selenium, is more readily absorbed and retained than selenium in inorganic forms.
• Bio-Available Chromium - The addition of chromium to performance horse diets has been shown to reduce the build up of lactic acid at the end of strenuous exercise or the closing stages of a race, and to increase the horse’s ability to store glucose.

EQUINE SENIOR® has been formulated for the mature horse/pony (6 yo + ) and those in their senior years.

EQUINE SENIOR® is a complete feed and as such the addition of other grains and supplements only serves to dilute the nutritional balance of the feed. EQUINE SENIOR® should be fed in conjunction with quality pasture, hay and/or chaff.
EQUINE SENIOR® contains carefully blended ingredients that cater for the increased nutritional demands of the older horse when in work, at rest or enjoying retirement. Research has shown older horses require higher levels of nutrients to maintain condition and general well-being as efficiency of the digestive tract decreases with age.

Ponies on average will require 1-3kg of EQUINE SENIOR® together with 1% of their body weight as quality roughage per day. Horses on average will require 2-5kg of EQUINE SENIOR® together with 1% of their body weight as quality roughage per day. Care should be taken to match feed intake to age, breed, appetite, exercise, desired body condition, pasture/hay quality and availability and climate.

Reduce the intake of EQUINE SENIOR® if horses gain weight and/or exercise regime is interrupted, on rest days and when pasture quality and availability is in excess of dietary requirements.

During periods of heavy sweat loss additional supplementation with an electrolyte such as HYGAIN® REGAIN® is recommended.

Feeding Tips:

1. Introduce EQUINE SENIOR® to your horse's diet gradually over a 7-14 day period.
2. Feed by weight and not by volume.
3. Feed a minimum of 1% of your horse's body weight daily as roughage.
4. Horses have a small stomach, so feed little and often.
5. Ensure horses have access to clean water.
