27th
August - Portarlington BEDS Competition
Portarlington B.E.D.S (Barwon
Equestrian Dressage Series) kicked off on Sunday the 27th of August with an
8.00a.m start, it was an early morning drive up the coast to Portarlington,
a beautiful Coastal town on the Bellarine Peninsula .
The day was not held
on their own Pony Club grounds as they are unsuitable for six 20 x 60 metre
arenas, however the location was great, with the ground being well kept and extremely
flat. Unfortunately there was not a lot of warm up areas but most competitors
were considerate. The day was well planned and well organized, the stewards
did an awesome job and helped to keep the rings running on time. The mothers
and fathers in the canteen served heaps of delicious home made cakes and soups
that helped to keep us all warm, which was a good thing as the sea breeze was extremely
chilly.
Things are starting to take shape in the progress scores
with a few different place getters at Drysdale/ Leopold and again at Portarlington
this of course is making for an interesting and exciting series.
These
are the progress scores as from Drysdale /Leopold.
