The third competition of the B.E.D.S (Barwon Equestrian Dressage Series) was successfully held at Drysdale/Leopold Pony Club on Sunday the 23rd of July.

Having never been to Drysdale/Leopold Pony Club before I was pleasantly surprised by the picturesque location of the club. Lake Lorne runs around the Pony Club grounds and their cross- country course runs along the side of the lake. They also boast a steam train behind their grounds that didn't suit all horses but luckily the train only arrived and departed once.

The weather was stunning and the day ran on schedule, even the grade 3 Pony Club presentation was finalized by 2.00pm.

This Pony Club was well organised with a parking attendant and arena stewards. The arena stewards made such a difference, if there was a scratching they came and found each competitor relative to the scratching and asked if they would like to ride early or stick to their original time. This was done in a very friendly manner that kept everyone well organised.

The gear checkers were helpful and polite (no gear check Nazis at this club) in fact I found all the members and committee to be friendly and enthusiastic.

The grounds were spacious with plenty of warm up areas. I feel this competition has been the best so far.
