The South Australian, Australian Stock Horse
2006 State Futurity & Maturity Show was held on February 4th &
5th at the Adelaide Polocrosse
Grounds, Lobethal in the beautiful Adelaide Hills.
This was a new location for this event and the Polocrosse grounds are in
a perfect setting and area for ASH Members
travelling from interstate and locally to compete.
Well known interstate Judges, Joy
Poole from NSW and Glen
Gough from QLD officiated and were pleased
to see the presentation and quality of stock on display. Albeit a few late scratchings
reduced some of the numbers in the young stock, competitor numbers were on a par
with previous State Shows. The enthusiasm
of the competitors taking part was evident in the care and pride with which they
turned out their horses. Many had
been preparing and practicing their workouts for weeks prior to the show in an
effort to win some of the cash an prizes up for grabs on the day! We
were off to an early start on the Sunday for the Branch show with
the ASH
led and
ASH
hack classes, after lunch saw us start the much awaited working classes which
went extremely well. With the preliminary working classes
were over it was time for the winners of these classes to compete for the Champion
and Reserve Champion Working ASH
proudly sponsored by HYGAIN. After wonderful fast passed work outs we saw the
HYGAIN award finally going to Clonmel
Tango ridden by
John Hentschke
and Reserve going to Rivoli Reaction ridden by Felicity
Green. |
